Funding policy

The World Journal of Experimental Biosciences is committed to transparency regarding the financial support of research and the potential influence of funding sources on scholarly work and editorial decisions. Authors are required to disclose all sources of financial support relevant to their submitted manuscript.

1. Disclosure of Research Funding

Authors must declare all financial support received for the research reported in their manuscript. Funding may include support from governmental organizations, universities, research institutions, charitable organizations, foundations, commercial organizations, industry, or other funding bodies.

The funding statement should identify:

  • the full name of each funding organization;

  • the relevant grant, award, or project number, where applicable;

  • the recipient of the funding, where applicable; and

  • any other information necessary to identify the source of financial support.

If the research received no specific funding, authors should include an appropriate statement, such as:

Funding: This research received no specific grant from any funding agency in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors.

Authors should ensure that funding information provided to the journal is accurate and complete.

2. Role of the Funder

Where applicable, authors should disclose the role of the funding organization in:

  • study design;

  • data collection;

  • data analysis;

  • interpretation of results;

  • preparation of the manuscript;

  • decision to submit the manuscript for publication; and any other aspect of the research or publication process.

If the funder had no role in these activities, authors should state this explicitly.

3. Commercial and Industry Funding

Manuscripts reporting research supported by commercial or industry organizations must clearly disclose the relevant financial support and any involvement of the funder in the research or publication process.

Where applicable, authors should also disclose relevant financial relationships, consulting arrangements, employment, ownership interests, or other relationships that could reasonably be perceived as creating a conflict of interest.

Funding disclosure does not by itself constitute a conflict of interest; however, authors must disclose any relevant competing interests separately in accordance with the journal's Conflict of Interest Policy.

4. Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions at the World Journal of Experimental Biosciences are made independently of funding sources and commercial interests. The identity of a funder or the presence or absence of research funding does not determine whether a manuscript is accepted, rejected, or published.

The journal's editors and reviewers must not allow funding sources to influence the assessment of a manuscript's scientific quality, ethical compliance, originality, or suitability for publication.

The publisher does not interfere with editorial decisions on the basis of commercial or financial considerations.

5. Verification and Corrections

The journal may request clarification or supporting documentation concerning funding information when necessary.

If a funding disclosure is found to be incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading after publication, the journal may publish an appropriate correction or other notice in accordance with its Corrections, Expressions of Concern and Retractions Policy.

Failure to disclose relevant funding information may be considered when assessing possible breaches of publication ethics.

6. Funding of the Journal

The journal currently operates under a Diamond Open Access model. Readers have free and immediate access to published articles, and the journal currently does not charge authors mandatory article processing charges (APCs) or submission fees.

The journal is published by Unicorn Scientific Publishing LLC. The journal's publishing and operational activities are supported through the publisher's resources and other legitimate sources of support, where applicable.

Any future changes to the journal's funding model, publication charges, or other financial arrangements that may affect authors or readers will be communicated transparently and reflected in the relevant journal policies.

7. Separation of Funding and Editorial Decisions

Financial or commercial considerations must not compromise the integrity of the editorial process. The journal maintains a separation between editorial decision-making and financial or operational considerations. Editors, reviewers, and journal staff are expected to disclose and appropriately manage any financial or other conflicts of interest in accordance with the journal's relevant policies.
