Editorial Independence
Purpose
This statement clarifies the independence of the editorial process at the World Journal of Experimental Biosciences (WJEBS). It ensures transparency for authors, reviewers, readers, and indexing services such as Scopus, demonstrating that all editorial decisions are free from commercial, organizational, or external influence.
Editorial Decision-Making
All editorial decisions regarding manuscript handling, peer review, and publication are made solely by the Editor-in-Chief and the Academic Editorial Board. These decisions are based on:
- Scientific quality of the research.
- Originality and novelty of the findings.
- Ethical compliance and integrity.
- Relevance to the scope of WJEBS.
No external party, including the publisher, funding agencies, sponsors, or operational staff, may influence these academic decisions.
Roles and Responsibilities
Editor-in-Chief
- Maintains ultimate authority over acceptance or rejection of manuscripts.
- Ensures adherence to journal policies and ethical standards.
- Oversees the integrity and objectivity of the peer review process.
Associate Editors
- Manage the peer review process for manuscripts in their subject area, including selecting and recommending expert reviewers.
- Evaluate reviewer reports and provide recommendations for acceptance, revision, or rejection.
- Advise the Editor-in-Chief on complex or borderline cases to ensure fair and consistent decisions.
- Uphold ethical standards, including identifying potential conflicts of interest, plagiarism, or research misconduct.

Peer Review Independence
All manuscripts submitted to WJEBS undergo double-blind peer review:
- Reviewers are selected for expertise and impartiality.
- Conflicts of interest are strictly managed.
- Reviewers’ recommendations guide, but do not dictate, final editorial decisions.
This ensures that all editorial judgments are made objectively and independently, without undue influence.
Publisher and External Independence
The publisher, Unicorn Scientific Publishing LLC, and any external entities have no role in editorial decisions:
- Commercial or institutional pressures cannot affect manuscript acceptance or rejection.
- All editorial policies are designed to maintain scientific integrity and transparency.
Commitment to Integrity
The World Journal of Experimental Biosciences is committed to:
- Maintaining independence in all editorial matters.
- Upholding ethical standards consistent with COPE and international publishing guidelines.
- Ensuring transparency for authors, reviewers, and readers.
